One place to size up Calhoun County.
The numbers, the properties, and the people, in one sitting.
Calhoun County has about 13,300 people, 567 square miles, two rivers, three state highways, and costs that make coastal Florida look like a different country. Until now, a business owner, developer or site selector had to piece that picture together from a dozen sources.
Invest Calhoun puts it in one place. It's run by the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce, working with the county, the City of Blountstown, the Industrial Development Authority and our regional and state partners.
The honest picture
Calhoun County is rural. The population is smaller than it was ten years ago, wages are below the state average, and about half of our working residents drive to jobs outside the county.
For an employer, that adds up to an advantage. There's a trained workforce here that would rather work close to home, land at about $11,400 an acre, state incentives most Florida counties can't offer, a new $47 million hospital, an A-rated school district, fiber going into the ground, and a downtown being rebuilt.
