Accessibility

Everyone should be able to use this site, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or voice control.

This site is designed to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, a standard the Chamber has chosen to hold it to. It hasn't had a formal outside evaluation, so this page says what was checked and what we know is still wrong.

The site's developer. No third-party evaluation has been done.
How
Automated testing with axe on every page, at desktop and phone widths, with More contrast off and on. Every page used with a keyboard alone, including the menus, the display settings, the industry tabs, the brief builder and the contact form. Page structure checked on every page: headings, landmarks, link and button names, and form labels. Layout checked at 320 pixels wide, and each page checked with reduced motion and with JavaScript turned off. Tested in Chrome.

We haven't yet tested with a screen reader or on a physical phone, so we're not claiming either.

What's built in

Every page can be used with a keyboard, and a skip link at the top jumps straight to the content. Focus is always visible. Menus, tabs and the display settings follow the standard keyboard patterns, and the phone menu keeps focus inside it until you close it.

Images and charts have text alternatives, and every number in a chart is also written out as text. Tables have proper headers. Form fields have labels, required fields say so, and the contact form tells you when your message has been sent.

Text and backgrounds meet the standard's contrast ratios. Pages reflow to a single column on small screens and at high zoom without sideways scrolling. With JavaScript turned off, every page can still be read and the contact form still sends; the industry tabs on the home page and the brief builder need JavaScript.

Display settings

The settings button at the top of every page has two switches. Your choices are kept in this browser only.

Reduce motion turns off entrance animations, scrolling effects and transitions, so everything is shown already in place. The site also follows your device's reduced motion setting on its own.

More contrast makes all text full strength and strengthens lines and borders across the site.

Documents

The Investment Guide PDF is a tagged PDF, printed from this site, and every figure in it is also on these pages as text. Briefs from the brief builder are printed by your own browser from the page you see.

Other people's sites

Some links go to sites we don't run, like the Opportunity Florida property database and the real estate brokers' listing pages. We can't vouch for their accessibility. If one of them is a barrier, call us and we'll get you the same information.

Known limitations

Our last check found no failures against the standard. That isn't the same as having none: if you find a problem, it means we haven't found it yet, and we want to hear about it.

If something doesn't work for you

Tell us the page and what got in the way. We'll fix what we can, and we'll get you the information another way in the meantime: by phone, by email, or in a different format.
