Highways
State Road 20 runs 358 miles east and west across north Florida. Its western section connects Niceville to Tallahassee through Clarksville, Blountstown, Bristol and Hosford.
State Road 71 runs 95.4 miles from US 98 at Port St. Joe north to the Alabama line, with 35.21 of those miles inside Calhoun County. It's the county's direct route to both I-10 and the Gulf.
State Road 69 runs 35.2 miles, starting in Blountstown and heading northeast to I-10 and US 90 at Grand Ridge.
Interstate 10 meets SR 71 at an interchange southeast of Marianna, 27 miles north of Blountstown. The county industrial site is about 15 miles from the interchange.
Air
Calhoun County Airport (F95) is five miles northwest of Blountstown, sponsored by the county. It has a 3,729 by 75 foot asphalt runway, avgas and jet fuel, hangars, a new terminal with a pilot lounge, AWOS weather reporting and fiber. In 2023 it logged 2,105 operations with 26 based aircraft, and FDOT credits it with $10.8 million in annual economic output and 45 jobs.
FDOT's own airport profile says F95 owns shovel-ready land next to the airfield that's ideal for industrial use. Runway-side industrial land at these prices is hard to find anywhere in Florida.
Ports
Port St. Joe is about 51 miles south and the Port of Panama City about 54 miles southwest. Both are deepwater ports, and both are about an hour and a quarter or less by truck.
Rail
There's no rail service inside Calhoun County. The nearest active lines are CSX and the Bay Line (Atlanta & St. Andrews Bay Railway), both reachable by truck in Jackson and Bay counties.
The old Marianna & Blountstown Railroad, once the shortest in Florida, ran from 1909 to 1972. Its bed is now the Blountstown Greenway.
